Gone are the days when plumbers had to dig up a homeowner’s yard just to figure out the cause of an issue in the sewer lines. Technology has progressed to allow us to use waterproof cameras that can go down any size sewer line and show us exactly what the problem is and where it lies. If the issue requires it, your yard may still need to be dug up, but with the initial sewer camera inspection, at least you will know for sure that it is necessary.
Sewer inspections get to the root of the drainage or stoppage issue, which can sometimes be tree roots! Other issues a sewer camera inspection may find are broken, cracked or damaged pipes, clogged areas, evidence of leaks, and more. While it is possible to rent a sewer camera and conduct an inspection yourself, it is not recommended and may cost you just as much or more than a professional sewer inspection.
